چکیده

Abstract Otolith phenotypic variability was analyzed in the Caucasian bleak ( Alburnus escherichii ) from Selevir Reservoir Turkey. Utricular (lapillus) and lagenar (asteriscus) otoliths were removed, while distinguishing between left right otoliths. All photographed on distal (for asterisci) dorsal surface lapilli) using a Leica DF295 digital camera. morphometrics measured to nearest 0.001 mm Imaging Software. Linear nonlinear (power) models applied determine relationships otolith measurements total length of fish individuals. Two classes (Class I: 6.7–10.9 cm L t ; Class II: 11.0–15.0 established analyze shape The Form Factor, Circularity, Roundness, Rectangularity, Aspect Ratio Ellipticity used A standardized model remove effect size measurements. Multivariate analysis performed detect differences variation. results discriminant function showed that 79.9% A. specimens correctly classified by classes. In this study, intraspecific variation asteriscus lapillus is reported for first time. study provide comprehensive data relationship bleak.

Antimicrobial Activity of Five Endemic Asperula Species from Turkey

In this study, methanol and ether extracts of five endemic Asperula species (Rubiaceae) from Turkey (A. antalyensis, A. brevifolia, A. pseudochlorantha, A. purpurea subsp. apiculata and A. serotina), used in the traditional system of medicine, were tested for antimicrobial activity by the agar well diffusion method and the broth dilution method. The most active species were Asperula brevifolia ...

Retroculus acherontos is described from the Rio Tocantins basin, Brazil. It is distinguished from all congeners by the presence of a nuchal hump in large specimens, an irregular black blotch located on the middle of the anterior soft dorsal-fin rays, fewer pectoral-fin rays (15-16), a deeper body, a convex ventral profile, a more transversely convex ventral surface of the body, and by chest sca...

Cytogenetic analysis of B chromosomes in one population of the fish Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae (Steindachner, 1907) (Teleostei, Characiformes)

The aim of this study was to characterize cytogenetically one population of the fish Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae (Steindachner, 1907), with emphasis on the analysis of B chromosomes. The nucleolar activity in the B microchromosomes was characterized, and an analysis of mitotic instability of these microchromosomes was accomplished. The results showed a diploid chromosome number of 50 chromosom...
